The target audience for my music video of Justin Timberlake’s song “last night” is for males and females between the ages of 16-24. The reason for this is that the lyrics in the song are based on a relationship which is broken up because of an incident that happened “last night”. This would appeal to most people between the ages of 16-24 because they would be at the point in their lives where serious relationships may form and break.
I have done some research into this target audience in order to appeal to them as much as possible in out my video. Therefore I have decided to research into the clothing styles and range within this age group for both men and women. The reason for this is that if i get the characters in my music video to dress the same as the audience they will find it easier to relate to the narrative of the video.
What The Target Audience Could Wear:
Females: These items of clothing show what a girl between the ages of 16-24 would generally wear. The target audience of the song would generally be dressed like and by using my research I was able to infer that they would shop in places such as River Island and Top Shop.
Males:
Males between the ages of 16-24 tend to by designer clothing as well as high street retailers. Therefore they would shop at various stores such as House of Fraser, Per Lui, River Island, topman and JD Sports.
